Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on St. John, launched a soup kitchen in the parish's Guadalupe Hall today to feed the homeless and less fortunate. About 20 people were fed.
The effort, launched by parishioners Maggie Metor, Avis Browne and Mary Athanase, has been named "Our Lady of Mount Carmel's Kallaloo Kitchen: Food for the Soul.” Parishioners donate and prepare the meal, which is served on Mondays at noon.
